Special Autox Notes:

The Cobra Cup events are listed under SCCA - Autocross. You must run on DOT tires with a tread wear rating of 140 or higher to qualify for the special Cobra class. If you run on race tires you will need to compete in OSP and will not be allowed to trophy in the special Cobra class and will have to compete for trophies in OSP. However, if there is enough Cobra owners wanting to run on DOT R tires (around 7 people) then we an create a Cobra Race Tire Class. David and I will continue to run in OSP and OSPL on race tires.

· There is one special event in this season – Team Challenge “American Muscle Car”. This is a team event with Cobras, Vipers and Vettes racing in teams for trophies. This is a two-day event and you must attend both days to trophy. Register early as they limit this event to the first 80 cars to send in pre-registration. You can not register the day of the event!

You must be a member of the SCCA to run any of the SCCA SFR events. Hit this link for membership information: http://www.sfrscca.com/NewMembers/ Membership is good for all SCCA events.

You do not need to be a member of the SCCA to run the SCCA Sacramento events. Membership saves you money though! Events cost $30 for non-members and $20 for members. That can add up over 10 events J

The events I have noted for AAS and CSCC are great to attend to get more “seat” time in your car. You may also compete at these events for their season points. There is no special Cobra Class with these groups. You would need to run in OSP. Cost for AAS Events is $30 and there is no membership fees. They run 5 runs at their events.

You need a Snell 90 helmet or newer. Snell 85 helmets are no longer allowed by the SCCA now that Snell 2000 helmets have come out. You may always get a loaner from the timing trailer if you don’t have a helmet.
